Hi, I’m Amanda Engracia Ayala (she/her/ella) and I am a multicultural Marriage & Family Therapist Associate (#R6414). Since 2019, I have been providing mental health services to a diverse range of folks throughout Oregon and I have been in private practice since 2020. I specialize in working with folks who identify as a person of color, mixed race, or multicultural. My practice is rooted in a social justice framework.

My family is from Colima, Mexico and Southern California. Prior to my career as a relational therapist, I worked in Los Angeles for more than a decade as a Certified Professional Nanny for high profile families which offered a unique perspective into the lives of families. During this time, I began my healing journey with a therapist and knew immediately that one day I wanted to do the same.

I received my undergraduate degree at UCLA in 2014 and my Masters of Arts in Marriage, Couple, Family Therapy from Lewis & Clark Graduate School in 2019. I am registered in the state of Oregon and under the supervision of both Dr. Pilar Hernandez-Wolfe, LMFT (#T0971) and Cayla Panitz, LPC (#C3608). As an associate, I have passed the MFT licensure exam and currently working on finishing up just the final relational hours needed for licensure.

While not in the office, I center my heart through plants, being outside, travel, intentional rest, being an Auntie, and spending time with family or good friends. I also prioritize seeing a therapist myself along with integrating self-care practices and rituals.
